The video series features educational art tutorials on how to draw three different birds around the world threatened by fires. The Spix Macaw from the Amazon, the California Condor, and the Swift parrot from Australia. These videos will be used by elementary and middle school teachers to bring art and environmental awareness into the student’s curriculum. These projects can also be completed individually without a teacher if anyone would like to do so. These films are a Girl Scout Gold Award project.
Each video will teach anyone how to draw the bird along with how it and its ecosystem are affected by wildfires. It will also describe how each child can prevent fires and help with the climate crisis. These videos will teach children empathy for their environment and good sustainability habits. |

Here is a map so students can color in the area of where their bird lives. This map is the Eckert IV projection with the central meridian set at 0° (Atlantic-centered). It is good because it accurately shows the actual size of places. It distorts the poles but is more useful for not showing a Eurocentric map.
