Who is Helping The Wild?Helping the Wild is an organization started by students of Glenshire Elementary School in Truckee, California with local Artist in Residence Nancy Tieken Lopez.
Our goal is to use art as a way to help bring awareness to endangered animals around the world. The students, third, fourth, and fifth graders, and parent volunteers are passionate about helping our planet’s inhabitants from becoming endangered or extinct. Every week, students research endangered animals and create paintings, sculptures, books, with “fun facts” about the animals they’re focused on. They do this to bring awareness about the perils that some animals face as their species approaches extinction. |
